If the Carolina Hurricanes will be playing Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final without Aaron Ward and Doug Weight, head coach Peter Laviolette isn't letting on about it.
When asked if Weight and Ward would play on Saturday against the Edmonton Oilers he said he would not discuss any injuries, but that, "They did finish the game."
Ward left early in the first period with an upper body injury, and Weight hurt his right shoulder early in the third. While both players came back onto the bench, Weight did not take another shift. When he left the RBC Center, he had right arm in a sling and his suit jacket over top.
Weight and Ward both made the trip to Edmonton, but the team did not make them available to the media at their hotel.
Should both players not dress, the Hurricanes will likely plug in Josef Vasicek on the third line. Oleg Tverdovsky may get the call on defence.
The Hurricanes lead the best of seven series 3-2 with Game 6 in Edmonton on Saturday.
